Inclusive Territorial Governance and Policy Implementation

  • Our Objective

Strengthening governance in Madre de Dios by improving coordination among actors, supporting territorial planning, and creating spaces where Indigenous peoples, local communities, women, youth, and local leaders can participate in decisions about how their land is used and managed.

The project was launched on January 1, 2026 and is currently in the starting phase.

Summary

This project helps the people of Tambopata plan and care for their land together. It brings local groups, Indigenous communities, and authorities into shared decision-making spaces, where everyone can contribute to decisions that shape the future of the province. We support the implementation of the Provincial Development Plan, so that policies reflect the needs and priorities of those who live here. We also build the capacity of local leaders—government staff, youth, and elders—to participate in planning and guide change in their communities. By strengthening the organizations that connect ideas, knowledge, and people, the project creates the conditions for innovation that protects the forest and improves lives.
