The cantons in Switzerland are mandated to enhance degraded peatlands of national and regional significance. However, there are also valuable peat areas outside the inventories with potential for enhancement. The LANAT-4 project, in collaboration with UNESCO Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch, the Landplan office, and Atelier 11a, worked on how committed communities, nature conservation organizations, parks, land users, and other stakeholders can contribute to the protection of these rare habitats. The practical guide leads through the essential steps from identifying suitable peat areas to implementing enhancement measures.
