Beyond education, stakeholder collaboration is key. The project fosters mutual learning through active participation in monitoring and evaluation activities, ensuring that those most affected by land and resource management have a voice in shaping solutions. Research on digital accessibility in the valley informs these efforts, with findings shared in a communication and impact showcase attended by key decision-makers. By strengthening knowledge networks and local agency, we aim to build a future where both people and nature can thrive.

These efforts take place in a region facing environmental and economic challenges. As a buffer zone to Masoala National Park, Mahalevona Valley has experienced ongoing deforestation, driven by limited farmland. Yet, the valley’s fertile land and unique ecosystems offer the potential for a future where conservation and sustainable agriculture work hand in hand. This project is helping to shape that future, fostering collaboration between local and international stakeholders to ensure long-term prosperity for the community.
