Amanda Jepchirchir Koech is a communications specialist with over 15 years of experience in conservation, humanitarian response, and development programming across Eastern and Southern Africa. She currently serves as Communications Specialist and Executive Coordinator at the Wyss Academy for Nature, where she bridges science, policy, and community voices to advance sustainability in East Africa. Passionate about amplifying women’s and youth voices in conservation, she combines her background in communications and community development with practical experience in grant management, knowledge sharing, and resource mobilization.

Amanda is committed to using communications as a catalyst for systemic change, ensuring that local voices shape regional and global conversations on sustainability. She has a strong track record in strategic communications, advocacy, and program leadership, having worked with organizations such as ForAfrika, Action Against Hunger International, World Vision, and the Kenya Wildlife Service. Her expertise lies in crafting and adapting communication strategies to diverse contexts, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and amplifying organizational impact through compelling storytelling, policy advocacy, and media relations.

Amanda is fluent in English and Swahili and is adept at navigating multicultural environments with creativity, flexibility, and a results-driven mindset.
