Dr. Qing Sun
Postdoctoral Researcher, Climate Scenarios for Sustainable Development
Qing Sun focuses on understanding terrestrial biogeochemical cycles and the interactions between land cover dynamics and climate at regional to global scales. She studied Agricultural Soil-Water Engineering at China Agricultural University and spent a year as a full-time volunteer biology teacher in a secondary school before pursuing a doctoral degree in Plant Sciences at ETH Zurich. Throughout her academic and professional journey, Qing has engaged in a range of research areas centred on global warming and sustainability. She contributes to several international collaborative initiatives, including the Global Carbon Budget (GCB), the Nitrogen/N2O Model Intercomparison Project (NMIP), and the Inter-Sectoral Impact Model Intercomparison Project (ISIMIP). With an interdisciplinary background in hydraulic engineering, experimental ecophysiology, and process-based modelling, Qing works to advance knowledge as well as tools to support climate change adaptation and mitigation.
